ICC World Cup: New Zealand All Rounder Jimmy Neesham Requests Indian Fans Ahead Of Final

Mumbai: New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham stepped up on social media and appealed to Indian cricket fans to resume their tickets for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 final if they no longer wanted to watch it from the stands on the official platform for resale.

India’s fans bought large numbers of tickets for the 2019 World Cup finals to be held at Lords in London. When India was favourite to play the final, on Wednesday, Virat Kohli’s men were stunned in the semi-final by New Zealand in Manchester on Wednesday.

About 15,000 of 30,000 tickets for World Cup 2019 finals were originally bought by Indian fans at Lords. According to The Guardian, 41 per cent of the ticket holders were registered as pro-India.

Jimmy Neesham requested the Indian fans to sell their final tickets to the “genuine cricket fans” of the World Cup 2019 in their interest.

“Dear Indian cricket fans. If you don’t want to come to the final anymore then please be kind and resell your tickets via the official platform. I know it’s tempting to try to make a large profit but please give all genuine cricket fans a chance to go, not just the wealthy,” Neesham tweeted.

The International Cricket Council had said that the final tickets between England and New Zealand have already been sold on websites like StubHub and Viagogo for more than £ 2,000.

Where fans are expected to resell their tickets on the official website of the cricket body, the final tickets are being resold for 50 times more than the original value.
