Indian Skipper Virat Kohli To Be Rested For Upcoming T20 Series Against Bangladesh

Mumbai: After playing around 48 back to  sincback matches since October last year, Indian skipper Virat Kohli could be rested for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh, beginning here on November 3.

The squad for the Bangladesh series will be picked in Mumbai on October 24.

A close source to PTI has said that “There is a possibility that Virat could be rested keeping the workload management program in mind. But the selectors will only speak to Virat once the Test match (against South Africa) ends.”

“It will also depend on how the captain feels himself. He knows his body best and he can ask the selectors for comfort if needed,” the source said.

After the first T20 in Delhi, Rajkot and Nagpur will host the second and third games on 7 and 10 November respectively.

The two-Test series, which will be a part of the World Test Championship, will begin on November 14 in Indore. The second and final Test will be played in Kolkata from 22 November.
