India’s Daily COVID-19 Death Toll Falls Below 3,000 After 35 Days

Mumbai: India has reported 1,27,510 new COVID-19 cases and 2,795 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The country reported less than 3,000 COVID-19 deaths after a period of 35 days and also this is the lowest rise in daily COVID-19 cases in 54 days.

Today the number of active cases has increased to 18,95,520 with fresh cases. Overall, the total coronavirus infections rose to 2,81,75,044. A total of 34,67,92,257 samples have been tested for the disease till May 31.

As many as 2,795 deaths were recorded, taking the total toll to 3,31,895. On the brighter side, 2,55,287 discharges took the overall recoveries to 2,59,47,629.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that the results of 19,25,374 samples tested yesterday came.

As on Tuesday, 21,60,46,638 doses of vaccine have been administered in the country. Nearly 12 crore doses will be available in June 2021 enabling states and union territories to ramp up inoculation, the Centre has said.
