ISRO Successfully Launches RISAT-2BR1 And 9 Other Satellites In Orbit

Mumbai: In another development, ISRO has achieved another milestone as it has successfully launched an Indian satellite and 13 US satellites in orbit.

Now the ISRO launch vehicle – PSLV meant for polar satellite launch vehicle – will take one more Indian satellite and nine other satellites into space. This mission will be the 50th flight for PSLV.

PSLV has taken off from the second launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh at 1525 hours or 3.25 pm. It will be the sixth launch for 2019 which also includes the Biggi – Chandrayaan 2 mission. The space agency will launch another PSLV in December, carrying another five subscriber satellites with its main payload.

ISRO has reported that “PSLV-C48, which is the 50th mission of PSLV will launch RISAT-2BR1 from the first launch pad (FLP) of Sriharikota, shares of Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC). The launch will be tentatively done in 1525. ” Is scheduled from. Hrs IST on 11 December 2019 subject to weather conditions.

The RISAT-2BR1, a radar imaging earth observation satellite weighing about 628 kg, will be placed in an orbit of 576 km at an inclination of 37 degrees.

Satellites from Israel (1), Italy (1), Japan (1) and the United States (6) as co-travelers. These international subscriber satellites are being launched under a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).

The PSLV-C48 is the second flight of the PSLV in the ‘QL’ configuration (with 4 strap-on motors). It will be the 75th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota and 37th launch from First Launchpad.
