Kannur International Airport Inaugration, Made ‘Kerala’ First State To have 4 International Airport
Mumbai : In another development, Kannur International airport inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
With this inauguration of international airport Kerala becomes the only state to have four international airports. Other three international airports are Cochin International Airport, Trivandum International Airport and Calicut International Airport.
Whereas both the chief guest Vijayan and Prabhu flagged of Kannur’s first commercial aircraft, Air India Express flight IX 715 to Abu Dhabi.
Meantime Air India will operate International service to Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Sharjafrom Kannur.
After Karpur International Airport (Calicut), Kannur will be the second airport in the Mallurbar area. The airport is spread over 2,000 acres, which will help to promote tourism in the area such as Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod.
