Kerala: Ambulance Attendant Sexually Harasses ‘Serious’ COVID-19 Patient

Mumbai: In a shocking incident in Kerala’s Malappuram district, a female COVID-19 patient whose condition was critical was allegedly sexually assaulted by an ambulance attendant.

The incident dates back to April 27 but came to light on Thursday (May 13) when the suffering patient reported an emergency to the doctor when his condition improved. Subsequently, the crime was reported to the police and the accused, identified as 33-year-old Prashant, was arrested.

According to the Times of India, the female COVID-19 patient was admitted to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna town. Her condition is stated to be critical. On 27 April, she was taken to an MRI scanning centre in an ambulance. Surprisingly, Ambulance attendant Prashant allegedly sexually assaulted her in the vehicle.

The patient feared the report of an ambulance attendant’s shameful act, as his condition was critical.

On Thursday, he told a doctor that Prashant sexually abused him in an ambulance while being taken to an MRI scanning centre. Subsequently, a police complaint was registered against Prashanth and he was arrested, according to a report by The Times of India.
