‘Khela Hobe’ Defines Violence In Bengal, Will Not Be The Same In Tripura: BJP MP Locket Chatterjee

The Khela Hobe' slogan was used by TMC in the West Bengal assembly elections, which was theme of the poll battle between TMC and BJP

Mumbai: Ahead of the civic body elections in Tripura, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee on Monday slammed TMC saying that Khela Hobe means violence in West Bengal and the same will not happen in Tripura.

“Khela Hobe means the death of over 60 workers, migration of over 1 lakh workers, it means gangrape & atrocity on women. If this is the definition of ‘Khela Hobe’ in Bengal, then there will be no ‘Khela Hobe’ in Tripura. We want Vikas Hobe,” she said citing incidents of violence.  Also Read: TMC Workers Are Facing Intense Violence In Tripura, Alleges Sushmita Dev

She added, “They can’t even handle their state and they are going to Tripura, where they don’t even have a single cadre.”

She has further called Mamta Banerjee a violent personality, adding that she goes back from Delhi without a victory.  Also Read: No involvement Of BJP Workers In Attacks On TMC, Investigation Underway, Says Tripura Minister

“If Mamata Banerjee will be their (Oppn) face (in 2024 polls), it’ll be violence vs ideal personality like PM Modi. Everyone knows what she did in Bengal. It’ll be good for us but we know that she comes to Delhi again & again but goes back empty-handed,” Locket said. Also Read: Congress Calls TMC ‘Outsider’ In Tripura, Regional Parties Have No Impact On A National Level

The Khela Hobe’ slogan was a rallying cry of the TMC in the West Bengal assembly elections held earlier this year, which it won by a landslide. Notably, this slogan became immensely popular and unofficially became the theme of the poll battle between TMC and BJP.

Elections to the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and 12 other municipal bodies are slated for November 25
