Mumbai: An official said on Monday that 907 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Thane, with 2,19,473 infections in Maharashtra district.
He said there were 14 deaths due to coronavirus in the district on Sunday, raising the toll to 5,521.
So far 2,07,527 patients have been recovered, while the district has 6,425 active COVID-19 cases
The official said that the recovery rate of COVID-19 in the district is 94.56 percent, while the death rate is 2.52 percent.
He said that 2.93 percent of the total infections have been active in the district so far.
Out of the total coronavirus cases in the district so far, Kalyan has 51,811 cases, followed by Thane city- 48,884, Navi Mumbai-46,161, and Mira Bhayandar-23373.
Apart from this, 1,190 deaths, Kalyan-1.028, Navi Mumbai-940, and Mira Bhayander-744 have been reported in Thane city, the official said.
So far, 41,848 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the neighboring Palghar district and 1,117 people have died due to the disease, an official of the district administration said.
