Mumbai: A man accused of murdering his wife attempted suicide inside the police lock-up on Sunday night, said Thane police.
Rajendra Krishna Patil (43) tried to kill himself by hitting his head with a wall at around 8:30 pm in the lock-up of Hill Line police station in Ulhasnagar township in the district.
“He is accused of killing his wife Vaishali (32) on 19th July with a sickle. He locked the house with his two-month-old daughter inside and fled. He was arrested later,” said the official.
A case has been registered against him under section 309- attempt to suicide said police spokesperson Sukhada Narkar.
