Mumbai: Launching target on Indian National Congress, PM Narendra Modi  said that they (Congress) allowed Pakistan to have Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara for seven decades and also over the key pilgrimage center linked to Guru Nanak Dev being allowed to be in the neighboring country during partition though it was only about four kilometres away from the international border.

Addressing an election rally in Ellenabad in Sirsa district, Modi said that the distance between the holy place and the pilgrims would end through the corridor to be inaugurated next month and it took 70 years to do so.

“The distance between us and the holy place of our Guru Kartarpur Sahib is going to end. The opportunity comes seven decades later. It has been seventy years. He said that what can be more unfortunate that we had to see the great center of our faith through a telescope for seven decades.

“Those who were responsible for the demarcation of the border in 1947, did they not think that devotees and gurus should not go for a distance of four kilometers. After this, should the Congress not try to overcome this distance in the last 70 years Should have done? ” Modi asked.

He alleged that the Congress and its allies did not respect India’s traditions.

“The Congress and its allies have never revered the faith, traditions, and culture of Indians. This is the attitude of the Congress towards our places of worship, along with Jammu and Kashmir. They kept confusing problems and did not. Modi Made an honest attempt to resolve them.

The Prime Minister said that the Central Government is planning to celebrate the event across the world and a national highway will now be known as Guru Nanak Dev Marg.

Modi said, “The BJP government is trying to familiarize the world with the historic occasion of the 550th Prakash Parv. The national highway built between Kapurthala and Goindwal Sahib near Tarn Taran will now be known as Guru Nanak Devji Marg.”
