Nationwide Lockdown Extended For 2 More Weeks Beyond May 4

Mumbai: Following the ever-increasing cases of Covid-19, despite a nationwide shutdown imposed since March 23, the Center has decided to extend it for two weeks after reviewing the situation.

After extensive review, and in view of the lockdown measures, for significant gains in COVID-19 status in the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, which will be further extended on May 4, 2020. Lockdown for a period of more than two weeks.

The MHA issued new guidelines for regulating various activities in this period, based on the risk profile in the red (hotspot), green and orange zones of the country’s districts. The guidelines have relaxed the districts falling in the Green and Orange zones.
