NCP Will Come To On Understanding With Cong Before Holding Further Discussions With Shiv Sena: Ajit Pawar

Mumbai: NCP will a meeting on the earliest basis and then it will go ahead with discussion on Shiv Sena,  Ajit Pawar said after a day President’s Rule was imposed in Maharashtra

The NCP held a core committee meeting here today to discuss the current political situation in the state. NCP Chiefs Sharad Pawar, Praful Patel, Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar, and Jayant Patil are present in the meeting.

Ajit Pawar told the media after the meeting, “All our legislators in the meeting today said that the government should be formed as soon as possible. Even I think Maharashtra should get the government before the new year starts.”

He said that NCP leader Jayant Patil will call Maharashtra Congress Committee President Balasaheb Thorat today to discuss between the parties and discuss the dates when we can have a joint discussion about moving forward.

“We told our MLAs what we had discussed with the Congress yesterday … We will discuss the Common Minimum Program with senior Congress leaders and the leaders of Prithviraj Chavan, Ashok Chavan, Vijay Waddettivar, Balasaheb Thorat and others We will also discuss together… As far as discussions regarding Shiv Sena are concerned, we will do it only after discussions among coalition partners, because we have a general declaration. Shiv Sena’s manifesto was different and therefore we will first have an understanding with Congress and then go ahead with discussions on Shiv Sena,” he added.

The NCP Core Committee met to discuss the current political situation in the state.

Maharashtra came under President’s rule on Tuesday after President Ram Nath Kovind gave his approval for the required notification.

The President signed the notification following the recommendation of the Union Cabinet, which worked on the report of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
