Occasion To Strengthen Strategic Ties: PM Modi As He Leaves For 3-Day Visit To US

Prime Minister Narender Modi will also meet Australia & Japan’s PM on his visit

Mumbai: PM before leaving for the US to attend Quad leaders Summit Narendra Modi on Wednesday said his visit would be an opportunity to strengthen the country Strategic partnerships with the United States, Japan and Australia.

During his visit to the US, Modi will participate first in-person Quad Leaders’ Summit, meet US President Biden, and address the United Nations, General Assembly.

“During my visit to the US between Sept 22-25, I will review India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with President Joe Biden and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” before departing to the US.

The Quad Leaders’ Summit along with Biden, Australian PM Scott Morrison & Japan’s PM Yoshihide Suga will provide an opportunity to identify priorities for future engagements based on our shared vision for the Indo-Pacific region, he added.

He further added that he will review India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic and discuss views on regional and global issues.

On the first day (September 23) PM Modi will meet US Vice President Kamala Harris and Australian &Japanese PM. Later, on the second day (September 24) of his visit, Modi has a series of meeting at the White House along with President Biden.

PM Modi will be addressing the UNGA in New York City on September 25. His address will focus on “Global Challenges” such as Covid-19, the need to combat terrorism and climate change.

He is being accompanied by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
