PM Modi Inaugurates Deoghar Airport In J’khand, Flags Off Flight To Kolkata

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the 657-acre Deoghar Airport, constructed at a cost of ₹401 crores, in Jharkhand. The PM also flagged off the Deoghar-Kolkata IndiGo flight from the new airport, which has a 2,500-metre-long runway.

The development projects in Deoghar have been listed as worth more than Rs 16,800 crores.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi said that the development projects will improve connectivity, tourism and business prospects of the state.

PM Modi said, “We had dreamed of Deoghar airport for a long time, it is being fulfilled now. These projects will make people’s lives easier. The development projects worth Rs 16,800 crores will improve connectivity, tourism and trade prospects of the state,” said PM Modi.

He also emphasized that the projects would help the neighbouring states to grow as well.

“Not only Jharkhand, but many regions of Bihar and West Bengal will also benefit from these projects,” he said.

The airport worth Rs 400 crores was inaugurated to pace up the direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, which is an important religious destination for devotees from all over the country.

The Terminal Building of the airport is equipped to handle over five lakh passengers annually
