Pune’s Sharp COVID-19 Surge Continues, District Sees 3,184 Cases In Last 24 Hours

Mumbai: An official said on Friday that the boom of COVID-19 in Pune continued in the last 24 hours, with 3,184 cases reported and 1,805 people killed in the city.

He said that there are 4,31,528 people now living in the district, out of which 9,372 people have died, 16 of which were reported in the last 24 hours.

The official said that Pune city, which is the fastest in the state, now has 2,14,830 cases, while the caseload for Pimpri Chinchwad is 1,12,370, after adding 855 cases a day, the official said.

Other areas, including the cantonment, account for 1,04,328 cases.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has recorded 15,817 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours in the biggest one-day spike in coronavirus cases in the state in 2021. The state also recorded 56 deaths and 11,344 COVID-19 recoveries on Friday.
