Maharashtra COVID19: Complete Lockdown Gets Imposed In Aurangabad On Weekends

Mumbai: Amid the increase in COVID-19 cases in the state, the district administration of Aurangabad on Saturday decided to impose lockdown on weekends till further orders.

“Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases till further order in Aurangabad, the full lockdown has been implemented on weekends. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Aurangabad district is 57,755 including 5,569 active cases, till yesterday, the administration was informed.”

Apart from this, the administration said that they have ordered partial lockdown in the district during the working days till April 4. On Thursday, the Maharashtra government also decided to lockdown in Nagpur district from March 15 to 21.

As per the order issued by the Nagpur district administration, only essential services such as vegetable and fruit shops and milk booths will remain open.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has recorded 15,817 new COVID-19 cases on Friday in the biggest one-day spike in coronavirus cases in the state in 2021.

The state also recorded 56 deaths and 11,344 COVID-19 recoveries on Friday. The previous highest single-day surge this year was 14,317 on Thursday, March 11.
