Race For The Most Runs In ICC Test Championship Begins As Smith On 1st Position Followed By Rohit, Rahane, Kohli

Mumbai: After a dominating win over South Africa, India is looking in a solid position in the point table of World Test Championship, after winning 2 test series, India is sitting on top of the table with 240 points which is more than remaining total of points secured by other teams.

Rohit Sharma had given a chance to open in Test, and he made proper use of that opportunity by smashing 529 runs in 3 test matches with a massive average of 132.35 including 2 Hundred and 1 Double Hundred. He deservedly bagged Man of the Match award and now he is a second leading run-scorer in World Test Championship after Steven Smith who has made 774 runs in 4 matches against England in Ashes 2019. 

After finding some form in West Indies, Indian vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane made his Hundred against South Africa in the Last test. His century in the home was after 3 years. He finds himself at third position after Rohit Sharma with 427 runs at an average of 81.16 in WTC most runs.

Followed by Indian captain and ICC ranked World no. 2 Batsman, Virat Kohli who finds himself on 4th position with 53 runs from five Tests which includes a personal best of 254* vs South Africa at Vizag in the second Test.  

England’s All-Rounder, Ben Stokes is in the fourth spot and is followed by the other Indian opener Mayank Agarwal, who has shown a great promise. Rory Burns, Marnus Labuschangne, Matthew Wade and Joe Root make up for the remaining batsmen in the list of top ten run-getters in the WTC.
