Rahul Gandhi Receives Notice From MHA On Complaint Questioning Citizenship

Mumbai: The Home Ministry has given notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi, asking them to clarify the fact about the “factual status” on a complaint that questions the status of their citizenship within a fortnight.

In a letter, the Home Ministry said that it has received a representation from BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, in which it appears that in 2003 a company called Backups Limited was registered with Rahul in the United Kingdom as one of its directors.

The Home Ministry said that in the letter of Swamy, it has also been mentioned that Rahul’s birth date is June 19, 1970, in the annual returns of the British company filed on October 10, 2005, and October 31, 2006, and he has declared his nationality British Was declared.

“In addition, in the dissolution of the above company’s February 17, 2009, your nationality has been mentioned as British.

The Home Ministry said in a notice issued on Monday, “You are requested to inform factual status in this matter within a fortnight of receipt of this communication.”
