Rahul Should Not Resign, He Should Prove That He Can Do It: Rajinikanth

Mumbai: After huge defeat in Lok Sabha Election Congress party has been facing a crisis as party president is set to resign from the post after in elections especially in UP’s Amethi were he lost after 20 years.

Each of Congress leader trying to convince Rahul to not take such decision which would affect the oral of party leaders. However, Actor-turned politician Rajinikanth echoed Rahul’s sentiment and said that senior party leaders did not help him, said on Tuesday, “He (Rahul Gandhi) should not resign. He should prove that he can do it Opposition should also be strong in democracy.”

He said, “I should not say that they have a lack of leadership qualities. I think it is really difficult to handle the Congress party … where senior-most people are there.”

“As a youth, (for Rahul) senior-most people are hard to handle. Even I think, my observation is from senior Congress leaders – they did not cooperate well. They did not work hard, “he said.

Rajinikanth, thrilled with the victory of NDA, said, “This victory is the victory of Modi. He is a charismatic leader. In India, after Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi, he is a charismatic leader. I am going to join Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. ”

However, the saffron party could not do much because of the anti-Modi wave in states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. “When there is a political wave, no one can swim against it and will be swept away,” he said.

In the meantime, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and leaders of C Venugopal and RS Surjewala met Rahul. Details of the meeting are not known yet.
