Raj Kundra’s Adult Film Business Grew During Lockdown, He Earned In Lakhs daily: Police
Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has said that businessman Raj Kundra, who has been arrested in a porn racket, earned lakhs daily after his adult film business grew during the lockdown.
A Mid-Day report quoting Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that Kundra’s porn business flourished during the lockdown. According to Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambe, Kundra started this business 18 months back but it grew rapidly and started earning lakhs daily.

Bharambe revealed that he forged a partnership with his UK-based brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi’s Kenrin Limited.
Bharambe said, “Since he cannot upload these videos from India to an app called Hotshot, he provided the content on a foreign platform by sending the videos through WeTransfer. All content was created in his office and sent to a London-based company called, Kenrin Limited, owned by his brother-in-law, Pradeep Bakshi.”

Apart from the app called Hotshot, Kundra also had another backup plan in case the app got banned. It was named ‘Plan B, Bollyfem’. Police said Kundra knew he was violating the law as the Hotshot app was banned from Google Playstore and Apple last year. The Crime Branch has recovered several WhatsApp chats that suggest Raj Kundra’s Plan B Bollyfame and talks about removing “bold” content from Hotshot.
Bharambe said, “The free-to-download app was blocked by both Apple and Google Playstore for the type of content it contained. The Mumbai Police have recovered incriminating evidence like several HotShot films, video clips, WhatsApp chats, etc. during the investigation.”
As far as his earnings are concerned, Raj Kundra used to earn lakhs daily as his business grew. Where he initially earned Rs 2-3 lakh per day, later this amount increased to Rs 6-8 lakh per day.
Bharambe said, “The documents of financial transactions are in thousands. We are analyzing the details to get the exact earnings. This will be treated as proceeds of crime. Till now, we have deposited Rs 7.5 crore in various accounts.”

For now, Raj Kundra and techie associate Ryan J. Tharpe have been remanded to custody till 23 July by a Mumbai Magistrate Court.
