“It’s simply depravity in the worst imaginable way. It almost defies comprehension,” Blinken told a news briefing in Tel Aviv, where he traveled after hundreds of Hamas gunmen poured across the barrier fence and rampaged through Israeli towns on Saturday.
Blinken claimed that Hamas targets civilians “in the most inhumane ways possible,” showing no respect for the law or “any basic standard of human decency.”
He went into detail about the unsettling things that he had seen in the photos earlier on Thursday when he met with Israeli officials.
The horrors he had witnessed in the pictures “harkens back to ISIS,” Blinken declared.
“A picture speaks a thousand words. These pictures may be worth a million dollars,” he continued.
