Sex Racket Busted In Maharashtra, 2 Women Who Have Acted In South Indian Films Rescued

Mumbai: A sex racket was busted at a flat in the Naupada area of Maharashtra’s Thane on Wednesday. Two women, who have acted in south Indian films, were rescued from the flesh trade, while three persons were arrested in the case.

Two of the arrested persons include women, they said.

Police said the two women were rescued following a raid at a flat in the Naupada area of the city.

Senior inspector Krishna Kokani said, “A woman from Amrut Nagar in Mumbra used to operate a prostitution racket. The police sent a fake customer and nabbed all three.”

The accused have been identified as Hasina Memon, Vishal alias Sunil Kumar Uttamchand Jain and Sweety, he said

The trio took actors and models along and pushed them into prostitution by promising them good money.

The police have seized Rs 2,14,015 in cash and expensive mobile phones from the accused, the official said.

A case was registered in this connection, he said.
