Mumbai: Mamta Banerjee led TMC has removed the Grand parties old name after getting departed from the Congress for over 21 years.
Party’s sources said to PTI, “Trinamool is written in green colours with twin flowers on the new logo, there’s a blue background it. It’s been in use since a week.”
In 1998, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee got separated from the Congress and formed TMC because of differences in ideology and opinion dealing with CPI which was the ruling party.
A party leader said, “TMC is called as Trinamool and after 21 years it was time to get change.”
Name of Congress being withdrawal from all the communication material Posters or banners but according to sources, it will be registered as Trinamool Congress with the Election Commission.
The new logo has been already accepted by the official Facebook and Twitter pages of the party, the CM, her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, and Trinamool’s leader in the Rajya Sabha Derek O Brien.
