VG Siddhartha Missing: 100 Personnel Joined Search Operation

Mumbai: Founder and owner of Indian coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day VS Siddhartha have gone missing near Mangaluru.

VG Siddhartha got off his car near the Netravati River off Mangaluru on Monday evening and has been missing ever since.

Siddhartha is also the son-in-law of former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna.

As per latest reports, around 100 personnel are on an operation to find the missing Siddhartha. Sources said boats with rescue personnel in water are out to find missing VG Siddharth.

According to PTI, sources have said that VG Siddhartha fetched Rs 3,200 crore from sale of Mindtree shares, but paid only Rs 46 crore tax out of total Rs 300 crore.

Former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy says, “The departments are harassing people. Don’t know what they want. They are misusing their offices. Legal action is different. They are free to do anything but at the same time, they have to give a free hand to people to come out of day-to-day difficulties. This isn’t happening in this country now.”

The team, including the divers, reached the river Netravati from the Karwar Naval Base, from where Siddhartha was missing. They have also joined the search operation. So far, the rescue operation has stopped for a while.

Meanwhile, in the view of the missing Chairman of Cafe Coffee Day VG Siddhartha, the board of directors of BSE limited called for an emergency meeting on Tuesday evening in order to discuss developments.

Police sources have said mobile tower signals show the last phone call made from Siddhartha’s phone was done from near the bridge over the Netravati River from where he went missing on Monday evening.
