Watch: Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Lashed Out UP Police For Strangulating Her
Mumbai: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the Uttar Pradesh police of stoning and strangling her as she was going to meet the family of former IPS officer SR Darapuri, who was arrested during the CAA protests.
Gandhi had earlier claimed that he was stopped by the UP police, but she somehow gave him a slip and reached Darapuri’s residence.
Talking to journalists, he said that today the government has such powers with which we had a historical confrontation. He also said that at present the grand old party is fighting with an ideology which he fought during the freedom struggle.

Meanwhile, the Congress in a tweet said that Gandhi’s car was “forcefully stopped” by UP Police while she “was on her way to meet the family members of former IPS officer SR Darapuri”.

After meeting party workers, the Congress general secretary headed the Indiranagar (Sector-18) residence of Darapuri, however, his convoy was stopped at Lohia crossing.

The Congress leader’s convoy was stopped twice – 1090 Square and then Polytechnic Square. After that, she walked about 2 km to SR Darapuri’s residence.
When stopped, she was heard saying, “Why are you stopping us? What’s the point of stopping us in the middle of the road?”
