We, Will, Co-operate With Police, Accused Should Be Severely Punished: ABVP On JNU violence

The police also shared the photographs, among which seven are leftist and two are right-wing

Mumbai: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) while briefing media here said that that they strongly condemn the violence. While also backing the police findings in the case, it was said that the accused should be severely punished.

This comes after the Delhi police held a media briefing to announce that they, through their primary investigation, have reached a few names that are suspected to be involved in the JNU violence that took place on January 5.

Speaking to the media, ABVP National General Secretary Nidhi Tripathi said, “The world came to know about the violence in JNU on 5 January. We want the investigation to be done and the accused should be punished severely.

She also said, “Delhi Police has named the accused and some of them were playing victim cards themselves. They were playing victim cards so that their role in violence remained hidden from the world. He has also created stories to divert the attention of the nation. ”

Speaking about the ABVP members whose names have been taken in connection with the violence, she said, “The picture is not clear. We do not know when it was taken and what the circumstances were then. Apart from this, a WhatsApp group is also being talked about. The admin himself has left the group. I also want the police to investigate the chat of that WhatsApp group. ”

She further said that ABVP is going to give its full support to the police and media. She also said that she wants the investigation to be done as soon as possible so that normal activities of JNU can be resumed. He further requested the media to present any evidence in relation to the violence.

During a media briefing on Friday, Delhi Police announced that they had identified nine people, including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh, who are suspected to have been involved in the violence on 5 January in the JNU campus. The police also shared the photographs, among which seven are leftist and two are right-wing.
