Will Not Support CAB If Citizens Are Afraid Of This Bill: Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray

After seven hours of discussion, the bill was passed by a majority of 311 votes against 80 in the lower house, where 391 members were present and voted

Mumbai: After the Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, it was said that the Shiv Sena would not support the proposed legislation until the party’s questions were resolved in the Rajya Sabha.

He said, “We will not support this bill until things become clear. If any citizen is afraid of this bill, then anyone should clarify their doubts. They are our Are citizens.”

The chief minister attacked his former ally BJP about his stand on the bill, saying, “Anyone who disagrees as a traitor is an illusion. We have suggested a change in the Citizenship Amendment Bill that we want in the Rajya Sabha Are. It is an illusion. Only BJP cares about the country. ”

The bill, which seeks to grant citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Zoroastrian communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
