Worried Over Reports Of Alleged EVM Tampering: Pranab Mukherjee

Mumbai: Former President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday raised concerns over the reports of alleged EVM tampering and said, “There can be no room for speculations that challenge the very basis of our democracy.”

“The onus of ensuring institutional integrity, in this case, lies with the Election Commission. They must do so and put all speculations to rest,” he stated.

Having a firm belief in our institutions, I think it is a ‘workplace’ which decides how institutional equipment performs.

This comes after a lot of complaints filed against EVM machines after Lok Sabha Elections.

Meanwhile, in a video from the Chandauli Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh, it has been said that the EVM has been locked in a room. Some people have been shown in the clip, which is clearly a supporter of the Samajwadi party.
