Allahabad University To Renamed As Prayagraj State University

Mumbai :  As the name of Allahabad was changed to Priyagraj, now its time for the change of Allahabad University, which is to be named after it. The Vice-Chancellor of Allahabad University sent a proposal to the Governor to change the name of the university as Prayagraj State University.

So far, approval of the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath is pending. Once sanctioned, the approval of the state Governor Ram Nayak will be required.

In October, the Uttar Pradesh government formally renamed the name of Allahabad in Prayagraj again. While announcing the decision of the cabinet to replace Allahabad as Prayagraj, Chief Minister Adityanath had said “Keeping in view the feelings and emotions of the people, Allahabad has been renamed Prayagraj by our government. Five hundred years ago the name of the place was Prayagraj as it is at the `Triveni Sangam’ (a confluence of three rivers)”.

Keeping the name changing spree, the Chief Minister announced that the name of Faizabad town will be changed to Ayodhya. Addressing a huge gathering here on the occasion of the festival, Adityanath said, “Faizabad district of the state, in which Ayodhya is a part of the city, will be restored to its original name and from today it will be known as Ayodhya.”
