Mumbai: Aussies duo Smith and Warner who were recalled for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup are praised by the England players.
Smith and Warner who suffered a ban for two years after the ball scandal is back in the squad for the WC.
Chris Woakes and Alex Hales eulogized the Aussies duo.
According to Hales, the backing of these two will lead to the team becoming, even more, stronger at the WC.
There are a strong team and adding Smith and Warner to the team adds to it. To have just gone and beaten India and Pakistan away means no one would take them lightly.
“Players of the quality Warner and Smith it would be silly if they’d have been not played,” said Woakes.
“What they’d done with Cricket isn’t right but it has been a long time and you need to forget in this world and move on and I hope that their Cricket does the further talking,” he added.
A former player Naseer Hussain too came into the support of Warner and Smith.
He said, “They’ve done the crime and suffered for one year, for someone it might be a short period while for someone it would be long, people make mistakes and most important is to move on.”
Australia will start its WC campaign on June 1 against Afghanistan.
