Best league In The World’: Sourav Ganguly After RR-KXIP Thriller

Mumbai: Board Of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly was impressed with the match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Ganguly said that such matches are the exact reason why the IPL is the best league in the world. As he remarks, the Royals chased down 224 runs with four wickets in hand and three balls at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

“What a game ..that’s why this is the best league in the world … amazing talent on display @bcci @IPL,” Ganguly tweeted.

BCCI secretary, Jay Shah also congratulated Rajasthan Royals on an improbable win and said that IPL regularly provides nail-biting matches.

“What an exciting turnaround to the match between @lionsdenkxip & @rajasthanroyals. Remarkable 5-6s in an over, What a masterclass by @rahultewatia02! Rajasthan Royals chased down a total of 224 runs to beat KXIP by four wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

For the Royals, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, and Rahul Tewtia all scored 50+ to win the team by four wickets. Tewatia came to bat at number four and was struggling at one stage as he scored just 13 runs in his first 19 balls.

However, in the 18th over, Shevatna Cottrell hit Tewatia for five sixes to give the team victory. The left-handed batsman smashed 53 as Rajasthan got a convincing win.

Sanju Samson smashed 85 against Kings XI Punjab. Captain Smith also scored an innings of 50 runs against Punjab.

Rajasthan has now won their opening two matches in the ongoing edition of the IPL. The side will play horn next with Kolkata Knight Riders on 30 September.
