COVID-19: Spinner Ashwin Kauds ‘Janta curfew’, Hopes ‘Social Distancing Continues’

Mumbai: Indian spinner Ashwin said on Sunday that it was an incredible start to the ‘Janata curfew’ and hoped that “social distinctions could follow in the coming days”.

“Unbelievable start to the #JantaCurfew, pin-drop silence as they used to say in school. Hope this is extended beyond this day and social distancing can be adhered to In the days to come. @narendramodi @AmitShah,” Ashwin tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the people to be part of the ‘Janata Curfew’ and said that it will increase the tremendous strength to fight the COVID-19 threat.

On Thursday, the PM urged citizens to abide by a “public curfew” in an effort to lift a coronavirus outbreak on March 22 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

India has so far 324 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, as per Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
