Delhi Elections: 4.33 Percent Voter Turnout Recorded Till 10 Am

Mumbai: According to the Election Commission’s Voter Voting App, two hours after polling, the voter turnout was 4.33 percent till 10 am for the Delhi Assembly elections.

Voting began on Saturday at 8 am for 70 seats of the Delhi Assembly in the national capital amid tight security. Voting will continue till 6 pm.

More than 1.4 crore people are eligible to vote in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Out of the total number of eligible voters – 1,47,86,382 – the number of male voters is 81,05,236 and the number of female voters is 66,80,277. In addition, there are 869 third gender voters.

There are 13,571 polling stations in 2,688 places. Of these, 3,141 are important polling stations and 144 are sensitive polling stations.

2,04,830 voters are above the age of 80, while 147 voters are above the age of 100.

The city is witnessing a triangular fight between the ruling AAP, which had won the BJP and Congress by an overwhelming majority in the last elections. AAP had won 67 seats in the last election, BJP 3. Congress did not open its account.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is hoping to retain power for a second consecutive term. Similarly, the BJP is hoping to gain a majority by cashing in on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity.

AAP is contesting on all 70 seats, while the BJP has fielded its candidates on 67 seats and has left three seats for its allies — two for JD-U and one for LJP. On the other hand, Congress is contesting on 66 seats and has given four seats to its ally RJD.
