Delhi-NCR: 30 Trains Delayed, Flight Operations Suspended At IGI Airport Due TO Low Visibility

Mumbai: National Capital still suffering from the fog in its adjoining areas on Monday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 4 degrees Celsius.

Train and flight operations were also affected due to reduced visibility in the city. As ANI reported, more than 30 trains were running late and many flights were diverted. In addition, vehicular movement across the city was also affected.

“Normal operations at Delhi Airport have been suspended due to poor visibility, only pilots can land as per CAT III B (Instrument Landing System). Passengers are requested to get in touch with the concerned airline for updated flight information. Foggy weather conditions/low visibility at the airport. Three flights diverted”, Delhi Airport said in a statement.

In particular, Delhi’s average minimum temperature on Sunday from December 14 has been recorded at 2.5 degrees Celsius.

However, in the coming days, the situation is likely to improve as light to moderate rains are expected in the city from January 1 to January 3, 2020, and hail is likely on January 2, 2020.

The IMD said yesterday that there was little respite for the people of Delhi on Sunday after the longest cold spell of the last 22 years due to a change in wind direction.

“As expected, a rapid change in wind direction has begun from the northwest and the cold days have subsided and today (Sunday) the cold wave has started.” This is reflected in the maximum and minimum temperatures, ”the Meteorological Department said in a statement.
