Dharam Singh Saini Becomes 3rd Minister To Quit BJP-Led UP Cabinet

Mumbai: Troubles have increased for the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government ahead of the elections, as Dharam Singh Saini has also resigned from the council of ministers.

His resignation came just 24 hours after he dismissed reports that he might quit the ruling party. For Unmatched, he is the third minister to step down after Swami Prasad Maurya and Dara Singh Chouhan. Dharam Singh Saini was the Minister of State (Independent Charge), AYUSH, Food Security and Drug Administration.

Interestingly, in his resignation letter, Saini made the same allegation that other MLAs had made against the Yogi government. Also Read: Mukesh Verma Becomes 7th BJP MLA To Quit Party Ahead Of UP Assembly Polls

He said he was resigning due to “gross neglect” towards Dalits, backwards, farmers, unemployed youth and small traders

Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted a photo with Saini as he did with Maurya and Dara Singh Chauhan, posing in front of cabinets full of books.

When Maurya left the party, Saini said that he was aware that his name was on the list of MLAs submitted by Maurya and claimed that these MLAs would leave the BJP, but said that he would not leave the party.

Meanwhile, the exodus of the MLAs from the BJP continues with Mukesh Verma, Vinay Shakya, Roshan Lal Varma, Brajesh Prajapati, Bhagwati Sagar, Dara Singh Chauhan, Avtar Singh Bhadana having already resigned from the party after Maurya left the BJP.
