Dissapointing Day For India As PV Sindhu Eliminated From Australian Open

Mumbai: World Champion silver medalist PV Sindhu got out in the second round from the Australian Open, which proved to be a disappointing day for Indian shuttlers.

Sindhu, who is still looking for the season’s first title, did not get the 29th place on the Nittchen Jindapol and lost 19-21, 18-21 in a 49-minute match. This was his second loss for Thailand’s player in seven meetings.

Sindhu was pushed back to 1-5 in the first game, but she took advantage of 11-9 in the break. However, Jindapole got out of the deficit and came back on the rise of 16-12.

Sindhu worked hard till 19-19 when Jindapol stopped the initial game in his favour.

When she leads 14-11 in a phase, then India revives the hopes of revulsion, but Jindapol again makes a strong return, taking advantage of an 18-14.

Sindhu reduced the lead by 18-19 but Jindapol soon closed the door on his opponent.

Sindhu was the last to fall, following the ouster of sixth-seeded compatriots Sameer Verma, B Sai Praneeth and the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.
