Extra Police Force To be Deployed For Indore Test Ahead Of Ayodhya Verdict

Mumbai: As supreme court of India is likely to give its verdict on Ram mandir in and disputed land in Ayodhya, due to this reason police has deployed extra security force for the 1st test match of India-Bangladesh series which is going to take place in Indore.

The inaugural test match is to be played from 14-18 November. The Holkar stadium of Indore has a capacity of 27,000 spectators.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Indore’s range, Varun Kapoor on Thursday said that due to the timing of the two events, they will deploy additional police force for the match. “The match is being held at a sensitive time as there is a possibility that the Supreme Court will pronounce a verdict on the Ayodhya dispute.

Despite that, we will put in place elaborate security arrangements by drawing adequate police force for the match,” Kapoor said.

Kapoor also said, “In view of the possible judgment on Ayodhya, we are reviewing security arrangements for the deployment of force in eight districts of Indore range.”

Indore range is considered very sensitive in terms of law and order situation in the state.

“We are fully confident that we will get adequate force from the police headquarters for deployment as per the requirement,” Kapoor added.

Stating that the police personnel were keeping a watch on the social media platforms as well, the ADGP warned that strict action will be taken against those who try to vitiate communal harmony through social media.

The matches between India and Bangladesh will go underway from November 3 with the first of three T20Is in Delhi before moving to Rajkot and to Nagpur. From November 14, the two teams will play in the first Test of a two-match series in Indore before moving eastwards to Kolkata for the first-ever day-night Test in India.
