France Condoles Arun Jaitley’s Death

Mumbai: French Ambassador Alexandre Zeigler in India on Saturday shared his condolences to the former Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley’s death through Twitter. After the news of Jaitley’s death broke out, the citizens and the politicians expressed their grief and condolences through social media.

The French ambassador in India on the behalf of France tweeted, “On behalf of France, I offer our heartfelt condolences to the family & loved ones of Shri Arun Jaitley Ji. As the nation mourns its former FM & one of Rajya Sabha’s most prominent voices, France stands with India & its people in this time of deep grief.”

Arun Jaitley breathed his last on Saturday in the AIIMS in New Delhi. He was admitted in the hospital on August 9 as he complained of breathlessness and restlessness. He was in AIIM’s cardio Neuro Centre in the ICU ward.

He died at the age of 66. He had served as the Finance Minister from 2014 to 2019 in the Modi led NDA government. He resigned from his position in the month of January due to medical conditions.

The Prime Minister of India expressed his condolences to the family of the late BJP leader through a series of tweets. The Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh too conveyed their condolences and prayers through Twitter.
