Great Position Compared To 10 Months Ago: Aaron Finch

Mumbai: After facing series loss on a regular basis besides ball-tampering scandal skipper Aaron Finch is relieved to see the team in a great position at the moment as compared to 10 months ago.

Defending champions could not say for better preparation in the World Cup starting on May, 30, because they won both their warm-up games against England and Sri Lanka.

Finch said after the match played here against Sri Lanka on Monday, “It’s a better situation than when we were ten months ago, it’s great when people keep jumping to fill the posts.”

Including Australian team Steve Smith and David Warner, in South Africa, there was a complete upheaval a year before the tampering of the ball. These two batsmen were given one year ban from international cricket.

Australia also lost an ODI series against England and South Africa and a home Test series against India for the first time.

Finch said, “We are in the form of a group from May 1, and we are still doing our basics well.”

Australia will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on June 1 in Bristol.
