“I Don’t Think Of My Family As Much As Modi Ji Thinks,” Rahul Gandhi On Holiday In INS Viraat
Mumbai: Breaking the silence on the ongoing controversy regarding late former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi using Indian Naval warship INS Viraat to vacation in the Lakshadweep, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said “Holiday on the INS Viraat? That’s crazy. Why would anyone holiday on an aircraft carrier? It’s not a cruise ship!”
Admitting that he had been on Viraat with his father but that wasn’t a holiday. “Yes I was with my father on Viraat when he was the PMOf course, there are pictures. He had gone for an official visit … and I accompanied him,” Rahul said.
Accusing PM Narendra Modi of being “obsessed” with his family Gandhi said, “I don’t think about my father, grandmother or great-grandfather as much as Mr Modi does. He thinks that that’s the place where he’s going to find his escape. Best of luck to him!” he asserted.
PM Modi accused later former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi of using his foreign in-laws to use aircraft carrier INS Viraat and his personnel for the holidays. In a rally in New Delhi, he had asked the Congress leaders to combat the attack on the issue that the security forces have been politicized by the BJP.
