Indian Team Under Threat From Terrorist Says NIA

Mumbai: A strict security is been discussed with Delhi police ahead of India’s first clash against Bangladesh on 3rd November after National Investigation Agency (NIA) received a threat letter (reportedly from Lashkar-e-Taiba).

As the much-awaited Asian rivalry clash is coming underway, it has been learnt that the Indian team might be under the threat of a deadly attack in the Delhi. The letter received by NIA has been forwarded by the security agency to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Delhi Police has been asked to keep tight security ahead of the two team’s arrival.

The letter from Lashkar-e-taiba has 12 famous celebrity and politicians names.

Amit Shah
Virat Kohli
Ram Nath Kovind
Mohan Bhagwat
JP Nadda
Rajnath Singh
Ajit Doval
Satyapal Malik
Ram Madhav
Nirmala Sitharaman
LK Advani.

The First T20 match is being played on 3rd November at Arun Jaitley Stadium (previous, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium), Delhi. However, Virat Kohli will miss T20 series against Bangladesh Rohit Sharma will captain the side.

Sources say, the letter could be a hoax but given heightened threat perception no chance is being taken and security review of the match venue and individual players is being done.
