INDvsENG 2021: Crowds Won’t Be Allowed Inside Stadium For First Two Tests In Chennai

Mumbai: Fans will not be allowed to participate in the first two Tests to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in England and Chennai, India.

England will be in India for a full tour which will begin on February 4 with a four-match Test series.

International cricket is set to return in India following the coronavirus pandemic with England becoming the first team to tour the country.

“We have been explicitly told by the state administration that congestion will not be allowed inside the stadium. We considered the lives of the common people at risk. At the same time it also has to be kept in mind that any untoward incident may put the entire series on the line,” the Telegraph quoted a senior official of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

Additionally, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is also cautious not to play with fans inside the stadium. The report quoted the source as saying, “The ECB is particularly wary, as they were forced to leave the South Africa tour midway.
