Mumbai: South Africa pace bowler Kagiso Rabada is all set for his upcoming battle with team India, especially captain Virat Kohli he says it presents an opportunity to test himself as a player.
Rabada will be a part of South Africa’s upcoming tour to India and this will be South African cricket team’s first assignment post the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in which they failed to make the semi-finals after finishing seventh among the 10 teams in the round-robin stage.
“Virat Kohli has proved that he is the best batsman in the white-ball format,” Rabada told news agency PTI. “He is already considered a great sport with some pedigree. Playing him is an opportunity to test himself as a player.”
Many members of the South Africa team are on their first tour of India and Rabada’s advice to them is to play without any fear against the world’s best batsman Kohli.
He added, “I think he (Kohli) is a fighter and at the end of the day, we would like to go and express ourselves and not have any fear. Have fun, play hard and just enjoy the battle with the world’s best batter,” he said.
India and South Africa will play their first T20 match on 15 September in Dharamshala.
