Let’s Switch Off Lights On April 5 At 9 pm And Light A Candle or Diya For 9 Minutes

Mumbai: Following the Coronavirus Pandemic, India is facing 21 days of lockdown and today it’s the 10th day of the lockdown period.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video message on Friday, April 3 and urged all Indians to light a candle or lamp in their doors or balconies at 9 am on 5 April.

“I request all of you to turn off all the lights in your house at 9 pm on 5 April and light a candle for 9 minutes, and just light a candle, ‘Diya’, or a mobile flashlight, to fight against coronavirus, “he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also thanked the countrymen for showing “unprecedented discipline” and “sense of service” by following the COVID-19 lockdown.

“My dear countrymen for participating in ‘Janata curfew’ on March 22 and said it has become “an example for all countries” today as they are following it.

In his address to the nation on March 24, the Prime Minister had announced a 21-day lockdown in the country to contain the spread of novel coronavirus, which has infected over 2,000 people in the country.

Earlier on Thursday, the Prime Minister held a meeting with Chief Ministers of various states through video-conferencing, stating that the state governments and the Center should once again ensure the re-emergence of the population after the lockdown ends. Should evolve a common exit strategy.
