Mumbai: Pakistan on Friday announced their squad for ODI World Cup 2023. Fast bowler Hasan Ali has been included in the Babar Azam-led squad. Meanwhile, injured Naseem Shah doesn’t feature in the squad.
The marquee event is scheduled to be played from October 5 to November 19 in India as the country gears up to host the ODI World Cup alone for the very first time.
For the first time since they last came for the T20 World Cup in 2016, Pakistan will be travelling to India. Despite having a terrible showing in the just-ended Asia Cup 2023, The Men in Green are one of the favourites for the World Cup. Pakistan was eliminated from the Super 4 round after suffering humiliating losses to India and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan is still seen as one of the favourites to win the World Cup despite those two losses. In order to end their lengthy wait for the ODI World Cup championship, they have a formidable team for the next competition.
