Pulwama Terror Attack: 7 Detained By Officials ‘JeM Terrorist Used 80 Kg High-grade RDX’ Officals Said

Mumbai: Jammu and Kashmir Police detained seven people from Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Friday, in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel had attacked near Avantipora for the deadly attack.

Officials said that the youth had been detained during the night from Pulwama and Avantipora in suspicion of relations with the plan of a suicide attack, it was the first such event in which the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist killed the explosive.

“A post-blast investigation conducted by security agencies has found that high-grade RDX” of about 80 kilograms was detonated in the blast,” officials stated.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited the valley and paid tribute to the CRPF personnel who were killed. He held a meeting with Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and the officers of Army and Central Security Forces.

He said, “I want to assure the people of Kashmir that impoverished cross border crossing will not be allowed to succeed against maintaining terrorism against India. I am happy that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are with us in the fight against terrorism.

“I want to warn people that there are some forces that would like to provoke communal passion. Whenever the county has faced such problems, then people who cut different sections and religious divisions of society defeated such designs. Have stood together, ” Singh added.

Meanwhile, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) teamed with explosives and forensic experts to collect the necessary material for forensic assessment of the crime scene. Keeping in mind the status of the crime scene, the team will continue on Saturday with the transfer of the material. The result will be known when the analysis is finished.
