Section 144 Imposed By Election Commission In Bengal’s Bhatpara Till 23 May

Mumbai: On a serious note, the Election Commission has banned the assembly of more than four people in one area in Bhatpara for an undefined time-period for violation of Section 144.

“A strength of 200 Companies of Central forces will be retained in West Bengal to assist in counting and to handle post-poll violence. This force will be deployed all over the state. The remaining 510 companies will move out of the state,” ANI quoted state’s Special Police Observer Vivek Dubey as saying.

During the last phase of Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, under the Mathurapur Lok Sabha seat, there were reports of a crude bomb blast in Raidih. There was a delay in voting due to the dispute between BJP and TMC workers. It has been said in the report that some booths have also revealed EVM’s disturbances.
