Team India Is Hurt With Offensive Comments Made By Australian Commentator Kerry O’Keeffe

Mumbai : India V/S Australia, India is all set to win ongoing 3rd test match against Aussies if rains doesn’t interrupt the match on day 5. Chasing the huge target of 399 Australia has lost their 8 wickets on day 4. According to weather forecast huge thunderstorm might disturb the game tomorrow at MCG.

On the other hand, one of the best Test side team India is ‘hurt’ with the offensive comments made by Australian commentator Kerry O’Keeffe’s insensitive remarks during the Boxing Day Test said India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun.

“Well, yes it does hurt you. But then when people make those remarks, there’s nothing you can do about it because it’s beyond your control. If you can channelise that hurt towards doing better on the field, then that answers all the questions,” Arun told the media after being asked if India were aware of the offensive comments made on air during the ongoing third Test.

O’Keef, who played 24 Tests and two ODIs for Australia between 1971 and 1977, made fun of Agarwal’s triple century in the Ranji Trophy, saying that the 27-year-old was “obviously his triple century against the railway canteens staff” . He also said that the team’s bowlers were “chef and waiter”.

Head coach Ravi Shastri did not miss the chance to retro O’Keefe when he was invited to post-day show for the official broadcasters of hard-fire test series.

Speaking to Fox Cricket, Shastri said: “He [Mayank] has got a message for Kerry… ‘when you do open your canteen, he wants to come and smell the coffee. He wants to compare it to the ones back in India…coffee here’s better or the ones back home’.”

O’Keeffe though did not stop there. On Saturday, the former cricketer was heard saying, “Why will you name your child Cheteshwar Pujara?” When the great spinner Shane Warne, who was sharing the commentary box with him, asked why he had difficulty pronouncing the names of Indian cricketers.

Where as former India batsman Aakash Chopra reacted strongly to O’Keeffe’s latest remarks, saying “Canteen XI the other day. Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar and Jadeja (not even knowing that his name is not Jadeja) today. If you can’t pronounce someone’s name, it’s YOUR problem. Unfortunate. Unacceptable,” Chopra wrote on Twitter.
