Gandhi invited 15 opposition leaders for a breakfast meeting at the Constitution Club in Delhi.

To establish unity among the opposition parties, all opposition MPs and leaders of many parties are attending this meeting.

Addressing the leaders of the forum, Gandhi called for opposition unity, saying the more united it is, the more difficult it will be for the BJP and the RSS to stifle their voices.

“I think the most important thing is that we unite this force. The more this voice (of the people) unites, the more powerful this voice will become, the more difficult it will become for BJP-RSS to suppress it,” Gandhi said at the meeting.

“Within the foundations of unity, we can have a few discussions and arguments but I think it is important for us to come up with the principles of the foundations of our unity,” he added.

Floor leaders from the Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, RJD, Samajwadi Party, CPI(M), CPI, IUML, Revolutionary Socialist Party, DMK, Kerala Congress (M), Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, National Conference, Loktantrik Janata Dal are present at the meeting.

MPs from Trinamool Congress, which has not been taking part in all meetings convened by Gandhi so far, are also present at the meeting. However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has skipped the breakfast meeting.

After the meeting, Gandhi and other opposition leaders cycled to Parliament to highlight the issue of high fuel prices.
