Mumbai: The United States topped 1 million coronavirus cases on Monday taking the death toll to 56,500 accounting for one-third of the world’s infection.
The cases of novel coronavirus don’t seem to draw in the United States. The President, Donald Trump has predicted the death toll to go beyond 70,000. The cases have been deliberately doubling in 18 days in the USA.
New York constitutes about 30% of the cases followed by New Jersey, Massachusetts, California, and Pennsylvania.
According to the University of Washington’s prediction, the death toll may go beyond 74,000 on August 4 as compared to 67,600 on 22nd April.
About 12 US states have begun to impose relaxations on stay-at-home restrictions despite the constant warnings from the health experts.
The world has witnessed about 5 million cases with 217 thousand deaths and 926 thousand recoveries.
